Podere Panta Rei
Located in Terricciola in an area called Colline Pisane. Our mission above all else is to cultivate the vineyards and make outstanding wine. In the Pisan hills, between Pisa and Volterra, we have five hectares of vineyards and two full olive groves. We are lucky to be growing in the region where good wine has always been a part of home.
Today we at Podere Panta Rei, have the pleasure and privilege to continue to uphold the history of the land surrounding us and creates its wine.
Our Philosophy
Cultivating the vineyard and making great wine is a pleasant trade, where imagination, passion, tradition and innovation intersect. We pride ourselves in our creation process that is focused on the artisinal and natural craft. The balance of creatitivy and tradition is not easy to always scale but continues to bring us back to our local roots. Our enhancements to the process focus on the terrirty, vine and unique microclimate resulting in wine which emobdies the temperament and personality we aim for. With careful management of the land and alternating of organic fertilizers we challenge ourselves to not only make good wine but do so in a sustainable way.
Our Wine
Our wines embodies the land, through a path of natural vinification focused on the healthy and complete ripening of the grapes. The territory is in the skins and in the yeasts, so we have chosen to ferment our musts in a natural way, with indigenous yeasts and with long stays on the skins. Our vines are currently Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Merlot, and soon we will also produce Foglia Tonda, Vermentino and Viognier. Fermentation takes place in steel, cement and terracotta vats. Some wines are aged in cement, others in barriques or tonneax, others in terracotta amphorae.
